New Hampshire Democratic Party is getting under Mitt Romney’s skin

Everyone knows that Mitt Romney has banked his entire presidential campaign on a strong first place finish in New Hampshire. If he loses there or performs poorly his entire presidential campaign is done. Instead of running a large national campaign, Romney and his operatives have to defend their standing in the Granite State, even as they dropped 4 points in the last two months. In the process of defending his position in New Hampshire, the Romney campaign has gotten very defensive about the New Hampshire Democratic Party's tactics in some pretty big and remarkable ways.

First, all indications with reporters was that Mitt Romney would announce his campaign for the presidency on Wednesday, April 13th, the day after the anniversary of Romneycare. Once the New Hampshire Democratic party started announcing plans for a celebration of Romneycare throughout the state the Romney campaign pushed up its announcement to April 11th, via Twitter.

Last week when Romney held one of his first events in New Hampshire on gas prices the state Democratic party pointed out in a press release that while Romney was Governor taxes on gas rose by 500%. Eric Fehrnstrom, Mitt Romney's national communications director took to Twitter to complain about double standards from the NH Democrats. I'm assuming that Mitt Romney's campaign complaining about double standards was lost on him.

And finally, yesterday Eric Fehrnstrom took the childish and unprecedented step of blocking the New Hampshire Democratic party's press secretary from reading his feed.

Fehrnstrom took to Twitter to gloat.

Anyone else thinking that the New Hampshire Democratic party is really starting to get under the Romney campaign's skin?
