The son of potential presidential contender Haley Barbour says he hopes his father doesn't mount a White House bid.
In an e-mail obtained by The Associated Press on Thursday, Sterling Barbour lashed out at Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol for his criticism of Haley Barbour's spending record and career as a lobbyist. The e-mail message suggests Kristol is more interested in dividing the party than defeating President Barack Obama in 2012.
Sterling Barbour says he doesn't want his father to run for the White House and face criticism.
The younger Barbour, Kristol and a Haley Barbour adviser did not have immediate comment late Thursday.
