Dave Weigel points out that Mitt Romney, during the 2008 presidential primary, preceded Glenn Beck's bizarre rant qua geopolitical thesis of how the protests in Egypt could lead to a Muslim caliphate spanning the Mediterranean. Of course, Romney did it in a 30 second spot, while Beck hyperventilated for long enough to ensure that his sanity was in doubt.
