Via Dave Weigel, some guy on Facebook named Herman Cain has put out paper in response to President Obama's State of the Union address. Herm Cain -- one of the only Republicans who has actually formed a presidential exploratory committee -- is a cola, dough, burger, and pizza magnate who has also served on the Board of the Kansas City Fed and had a talk radio show. For those of you who regularly watch Fox News, you probably already knew this because Sean Hannity and Steve Doocy love them some Herm Cain. SPOILER ALERT: Cain's response is not a video, but a Scribd PDF embed. As such, I cannot speculate about why Cain was looking at the wrong camera during his response and must instead speculate why anyone would embed a Scribd PDF viewer of a text document on Facebook, a platform built to share, among other things, text.
As for Cain's statement itself, it's full of Tea Party platitudes about Obama eating private industry, "for thee, not for me" and such. The only memorable thing about it is that he put it out through Facebook as a PDF embed. Frankly, if I never learn another thing about Cain, I'll be content to know that he thinks Scribd is Teh Awesome.
