Rick Perry has a web video

The Perry campaign has launched a web video alongside the rollout of their secessionist candidate. It starts off with a litany against Obama around the bad economy and sounds pretty familiar if you've seen any of Mitt Romney's economy based ads or the one the Pawlenty campaign put out last week prior to being destroyed by Bachmannia. The ad then pivots to a biographical piece, which repeatedly stresses Perry's history as a job creator (through government) while simultaneously an awesome executive (in government) who really hates government. In the mix is a lot of shots of Perry being a governor in Texas and near the close is a shot of him doing his best "Walker, Texas Ranger" impersonation with him mugging it towards the camera in a tan jacket.

For what it's worth, Paul Krugman's column today does a pretty serious Fisking of Perry's jobs record. I'd expect the DNC to spend a lot of time in coming days and weeks going straight after Perry's job creation record. It's likely a key point of contrast Perry will try to use against Obama in the general election and the sooner it can be undercut, the better it will be for Obama.
