Mitt Romney's authenticity problem

Mitt Romney is the unluckiest man in politics. In 2007 as he was looking to announce his bid for the presidency the DNC released a video of Mitt Romney's discussions of social issues during his 1994 race against Ted Kennedy. Positions on abortion and civil rights than the positions he needed to take to win the Republican nomination in 2008.



Fast forward to 2011 and the major issue in the Republican primaries is healthcare reform and mandates that look very much like what Mitt Romney instituted in Massachusetts. All captured and put online by the DNC. The video was released last March as health care reform was passing the Senate and Mitt Romney decided to speak out about "unconstitutional mandates" in the bill.



Color me skeptical that Mitt Romney can ever overcome these kinds of problems.
